Zanefa denies being a copycat!

Zanefa Ngidi.  ~
THE teasing between popular maskandi musicians, Madlanduna Luthuli and Zanefa Ngidi, has taken a nasty turn. They live at KwaMaphumulo in KZN, and used to provoke each other in their songs, one accusing the other of copying the late Bhekumuzi Luthuli.
First Madlanduna accused Zanefa of imitating his late dad, Bhekumuzi.
Zanefa denied that he’s a copycat and said he sings in village style.
Now Madlanduna has dropped an album titled DNA.
Some of the lyrics go as follows: My father was a Casanova and had many children. Other people told me there is another one who sings exactly like my father. Now I want us to do a DNA test. I don’t like to fight with my father’s son because this man could be my fathe r’s son.
Asked to explain his lyrics, Madlanduna said: “All I can tell you is that someone is always following me and sings in my father’s style.
“I’ve realised he could be my father’s son because my father was a Casanova. So I challenge him to do
a DNA test so I won’t fight with my brother.
“This song is a call to make peace with my would-be brother.
“Our ancestors will not bless us, if we fight each other.
“I haven’t called him personally, but have sent the message to those close to him.”
Zanefa said he doesn’t have a problem taking a paternity test.
“My parents are too old. There’s no way Bhekumuzi was my mum’s Ben 10, because in those days there were no such things as Ben 10s.
“It could be that Bhekumuzi was a son of my dad, S’manga Ngidi, who died in 2002 aged 82.
“I won’t disagree with Madlanduna, for it could be that we’re brothers or related in other ways,” Zanefa said.
